Steam Driven Machine Shop Video

Here is a link to a guy who built a steam powered machine shop. The owner is David Richards and he has been posting videos on youtube for about 7 years. It is complete with a wood fired boiler. The link is for his first video where he does a tour of his shop.

Thanks for posting. A lot of work and effort to set up that shop. I hope he gives demonstrations to local school students, it's better than looking at pictures.

I enjoy watching steam engines when operating. The local amusement park, Cedar Point, operates a coal fired steam trains that travel through the park. Cathy and I ride it whenever we go to the park.
At work we had two reciprocating steam engines that drove reciprocating air compressors. They were used when we had excess steam which was generated with coal. This excess occurred in the summer when there was a low demand for process heat and for building heat. The engines were scrapped in the 70s.
