Cat's are that way. Our's threatened to eat the aardvark if we didn't let him ride the Harley.
When did I do that?

Re: Give me a ride!
I can think of few things cats would like better than loud, clankety open air rides in/on
a metal "can" sort of contraption like a Model T.
Now, when those aardvarks infest, a person better have their car herding skills in top order !

Aardvarks aren't bad eating and taste a little like gecko.
Just kidding about our cat. I'm allergic.

Re: Give me a ride!
Geckoes are great to have around. Catch 'em by the tail, tail falls off. Renewable meat source. We used to keep a flock next to the chicken coop, similar idea. Gather the eggs and the gecko tails at the same time. Gecko tails and scrambled eggs, a little dash of jalapeño - meal fit for a king !Rich Eagle wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2019 9:00 amAardvarks aren't bad eating and taste a little like gecko . . .

I interrupt this program to remind everyone, while cats are ok...dogs still rule !!
I was outside with mine and a couple rugs had gotten wet in the basement. Almost dry from the sun in the driveway. Why lay in the grass, when there's a perfectly good rug in the sunshine !

Re: Give me a ride!
Great stuff!
Drifting some or a lot: Roxy has been on a ride down The Hill but doesn't like vehicles. Almost rode the hood of the pickup UP The Hill.
She jumped down and walked up. Swore at me. Things I can't type here. I heard her.
Those quivering and loud four cylinder T's? No way.
The puppers were a different story.
Eh hem.
A dose of reality just now? Dunno. Roxy's happy face.
She was tearing my knee apart with her claws she was so happy. Have the marks to prove, True.

Re: Give me a ride!
Tom (The Atom Bomb) has the run of the place, and likely has a pleasant relationship with our horses. I've seen Babe nuzzle him, and he often perches on stall doors. He is never around when I fire up Lizzy. (?). Last evening, I gave my two grandsons a riding lesson in the small pasture, and Tom was there, either really wanting a ride, or incredibly curious as to what we were doing with "his" ponies ! I never ride on the place, so this was a novelty he'd never seen before. Tom is just a wee kitten, only weighs 19 pounds. He's a good pal !

Re: Give me a ride!
Looking for pictures to scan, Dummie was a black cat that rode on the headlight of my KZ750 (Motorcycle) sometimes at speeds in excess of 80 MPH when I lived in Ca. Brought the bike home one day with a faring... she never went near it again.
Do it right or do it over, your choice. Drive like everyone is out to get you!

Re: Give me a ride!
Hummingbirds live in a totally different time zone than the rest of us mere mortals. They are secure in the knowledge that they are the top of evolutionary development.
When I was growing up, we had a cat that was tough, and fast! I saw her chase a German Shepard up a small tree one time (true story!). She caught more than her share of anything that cats like to catch. Several times, however, a hummingbird would tease her. Hover above, then jump down a few inches closer. Closer, again still closer. In the wink of an eye that cat would swipe a clawed paw so fast a human couldn't see it. The hummingbird, would back up just barely out of reach, a clean miss. Then again down a bit, down a bit more, more yet. Another swipe and a move. Only to repeat, over and over again. I saw this happen many times with that cat and a hummingbird. Ten, sometimes twenty minutes. Never saw the cat get it, eventually walking away mad switching her tail in frustration.
I often wondered how many hummingbirds tried this? Or was that one single tough old bird?
