I think it may be a Crestmobile. Not the early one with the one cylinder motor mounted on the front of the body.

Or... a REO?

Looks like maybe a 1906 REO.

I Agree with Les. REO, 1906 without deck or rear seat. 1 cylinder.

1907 or 1908 Oldsmobile (not sure exact year).

The fenders give it away.

Nice ID Erik,
My Olds book shows the plowshare fenders as early as 1906. The closest I can see in their pictures is a 1907 Model A or a 1908 Model X. I can only guess.
Thanks for the photo and the guess.
Rich

Absolutely no clue about the car, a Panhard maybe ? But the photo must have been taken on famous Daytona Beach, it reads in the letter " We hate to leave Daytona , we like the place so much and have made many friends"
Nice picture !

I think Herb's Sunday car is a Pope-Toledo, around 1904 (give or take).

Thanks Dan. Early Cadillacs have been a mystery to me. I have an instruction book for them (below). It Has Models D and L omitted, yet I can't distinguish the differences. Paragraphs list certain models together next to illustrations, but they tend to not be all the same. One place describes cars made in 1906-1907 and 1908. Some of the Runabouts are Tulip Bodies and some have trunks, and some have a flat deck.
06Cdelet.jpg
I have just spent a couple hours Googling and Found some photos are described different Models for the same year shows a Tulip touring as being a Model T (Cad). If I could find my big Cadillac book I would look further. For now, I have had mt fun. If I had the car, I would spend more time learning about them.

If you want to know more, Henry Austin Clark and Beverly Rae Kimes American Cars 1905-1942 has good descriptions of the Lettered Cars, more than there is room for here. Great book. Will list a few as I see them.
E, K and S are Runabouts. F, M and T are other body types. Models D, L, H and G are 4- cylinder cars. F was a Touring and also delivery. used the newer style hood. K and M had cylinder facing to rear. Planetary and sliding gear were used in different models. Muffler size, location of controls varied also.
I have saturated my interest for now, but it was fun searching. The Model 30 4- cylinder was introduced in 1909.

I think the *car* on the right in Herb's photo is a 1904 Cadillac detachable tonneau, but the hood appears to be the later, late-1904 style that has been modified, or the earlier 1904 style that has been modified amateurishly to LOOK like the late 1904 style.

The windshield stanchions looked more curved or rounded to me in the photo but I'm not overly fond of the"improved" cars so my eye is not so trained.

That is not what the back of the card calls it.
It says it is a 1915 Monroe.

Yup. Monroe. Had the pleasure of seeing one once, interesting car and rare. A local gas station had one in a display lineup of antique cars 60 years ago, no one knows what became of it.
