Better late than never... True Model T fashion .

As per the last few years, I was able to go to Oshkosh for the annual airshow. I was there 4 days this year. I did not take as many pictures as I did last year. I am more interested in the warbird aspect of the show, although I do enjoy vintage and the main boeing plaza. For me, this year's highlights were seeing over half of the world's grumman wildcats together, a newly operational P 38, the C121 constellation, both B 29s and EAA's B-17.
As for the entire show, It was another record setting year, with almost 15000 aircraft and close to 700000 people.

I spent most of my time at warbirds, so most of this year's pictures will be warbirds.

Always loved the Wildcats, had a model one when I was small and downed many a Zero in the back yard. Thank you for the Kool photos!

- you are not as strange as you think! I am almost 90 and still drive cars which are older than I am. I listen to music which was made in the 1920s or before. They are 78 Rpm records which we play on a wind up Victrola. You see, we didn't have a radio and one placed we lived had no running water or electricity. Only wood stoves. The Model T's were driven from the time they were manufactured until the mid 1950.s because during the depression people couldn't afford a new car, in fact, there were still horses and wagons driving around the Los Angeles area! Then during the second world war civilian cars were not being sold and for a few years afterward there was a waiting list to get a new car. Anyway, you are not as odd as you think. Also, if you are mechanically inclined, the Model T is a fix it yourself car. The ones being made now I only check the oil and coolant. I have replaced a battery on the newer ones, but with all the electronics I don't touch.

Yes, I would've liked to go to the international tour in Minnesota this year, but since we work on airplanes I usually am up there, although I want to skip Oshkosh one year and attend a national tour! Maybe next year I can drive my T to oshkosh..

Here's a few of the airplanes I've been able to work on. All of these are T-28s. I didn't take any pictures of the smaller planes, but there were probably 10 or so scattered around.

This year, there were 2 goodyear blimps. One was painted as it was in 1925 and they flew.together during the show. They are fascinating and sound like a big weedeater and look quite comical when they do 'aerobatics". Almost like a whale.
Also there is the privateer, T28s, B 25, and more.

Gettin' in trouble with the trimotor. Where there's a ford, there's trouble. I got told to back off when they started the engines, aparently I'm not supposed to stand behind it when running who would've known...

This was pretty neat. An airworthy C 47 that was in D-Day and assisted in europe with airdrops and more duting WWII. The interior is original, down to the zinc chromate which has been signed by WWII veterans. It has been over the ocean 4 times, 3 as commeration flights and once in the 40s.

Blimp aerobatics, quite humorous, frankly.

I've always been partial to the bombers. It's rare to see a B 17 anymore, so here's some of EAA'S Aluminum Overcast. She does not fly anymore.

Great pictures Austin, it's good to know that some young folks appreciate the evolution of technology.
