Bonneville Speed week
Anyone planning to go to the Salt Flats for Speed Week? I will be there Friday and leaving Monday, I am taking my 26 roadster. Hope to meet up with some T folks if possible.

Re: Bonneville Speed week
Your T does not look very aerodynamic or speedy but it sure looks fun!
Some photos of those speed machines would be great. Have a great time!

I have never been there but know several that were smitten years ago. Never the same after and they long to go back when they can.

In a few more years hope to have my baby monster built for a go at 200 MPH plus club. Model T powered, rear mounted engine, just one for the bucket list.

I believe Clayton Paddison took his Model T to the flats. I think he was timed at 265.8 … feet per hour!

I met Clayton and Chris Becker down at the salt a few years ago. It is always a good time.

========================================
The thought has crossed my mind to use an actual boat like that, but turning it upside
down, everything falls out ! Turn it right-side-up, it makes a dandy pickup bed. Use the
aft section, and it works even better !
More people are doing it today than ever before !

Re: Bonneville Speed week
Yeah Burger, also there's the semantics of it;
Technicaly speaking it's not the tail of a boat but the 'stern', but he didn't use that, he used the 'bow' and it's on the rear of the car, is that the 'tail'?
We're getting deeper and deeper in this semantic quicksand, so let's leave it at "boattail" or this thread could end up in the OT part of this forum

Re: Bonneville Speed week
Thanks Mike I had no idea that I was being photographed. We had a great time out on the salt even tho we didn't get to watch them run, we had to leave before the delay was over. Burger, you are right the back of the bout makes a great pickup box. The other half of the boat is on my friends 30 model A called "A Boat Load of Fun"
