Chateau Impney hillclimb 2018 Pre War Class cars

Post by Kaiser » Tue Jan 21, 2020 12:05 pm

Only one unrecognisable Ford Special but loads of amazing machines, and drivers with huge 'cohones' who wrestle their cars around the last bends before the finish, all pre war and brass era machines driven to the max.
from pint size cyclecars to aero engined behemoths and a 'gagle' of Bugatti's to boot.

Enjoy !
When in trouble, do not fear, blame the second engineer ! 8-)

Interesting to see the mixture of men and women drivers. Some cars held the road much better then others. Thanks for posting this.

Wow, Leo, that was incredible! I lost count, but it was a bunch of fantastic cars there! Quite a few nearly lost it near the "FINISH" sign. I thought the Amilcar had had it for a fraction of a second. So many of those cars, I expected quite a show, but I think what surprised me the most were the Austin 7s. I never really thought of those as powerful cars, although I knew they had quite a history in road racing due to excellent handling, but those things roared up that hill!
Thank you for sharing that here! Ten minutes thoroughly enjoyed!

Ditto Wayne

the blown 7's were remarkable and the film looked sped up. Other then the Rileys, I think the Buggati's sounded the most similar and brutally refined of the cars, and to think of how early they were compared to some of the others. I now understand why they are virtually cult classics...I'd never heard one run before, much less at any kind of speed.

WOW!
