Just inspected the first samples of the Vane Actuators from a new run. The workmanship, quality and machining tolerances are all excellent with window edge to window edge machining tolerances well within the specified +/- 1 degree tolerance. This is very important because it determines the cylinder to cylinder ignition timing accuracy and consistency.

Mechanical tolerances were verified by electrical performance test using the E-Timer and its specially designed test set. Cylinder to cylinder timing error is less than +/- 0.4 degrees. Note that Automatic Timing Advance remains active and accurate from 400 RPM to 3500 RPM during this timing accuracy test operating on 12VDC battery.

That's probably more accurate than the piston timing at most speeds and loads.

E-Timer running on 12 Volts? I thought the E-Timer was built for 6 V only. I just installed an E-Timer but have not driven my car beyond my driveway yet. I use a 6 V battery.

The E-Timer was designed to operate on 6V, 8V, 10V or 12V battery. The computer monitors the operating voltage and adjusts coil timing for optimal performance automatically.

I do not understand what this part does. Does it make the E-Timer work better? I'm curious because both of my cars have E-timers.
