Removing Rust From A Gas Tank

This guy had great results with this product.
These instructions are for a Model A but the procedure about how to flush the tank should be the same.
I am not sure if you can use the mentioned product more than once.

Um,may be a viable alternative to sandblasting and such for alot of parts.I think I read something about the 16 gallons would clean 600 pounds of metal?
I don't have much knowledge of chemistry. But lets say i wanted to clean the lock rings for a TT rim, would this chemical be safe as far not affecting the metal? What about springs? I guess you could put some in a plastic pan and turn a T engine block upside down in the tub over night and clean the water passages really well.Might even help unstick parts like the valves and pistons on a rougher block?
The possiablitys are endless if it won't hur the metal. I would think maby check to see if babbit is another concern?

BE CAREFUL, HAVING,WORKED ON MORE THAN A FEW A-FORDS, UP HERE IN THE HILLS THEY GOT THE CRAP BEAT OUT OF THEM, AND STILL THEY COME BACK FOR MORE, THE MODEL A STEERING WHEEL POST IS CONNECTED TO THE GAS TANK , INSPECT THIS VERY CLOSE, I HAVE SEEN TWO THAT LEAKED THERE BECAUSE OF RUST MAKING THIS SPOT VERY THIN. THE TANK YOU SPEAK OF HAS HAD A HARD LIFE I WOULD SAY. THERE USED TO BE A PRODUCT CALLED SLOSH THIS WOULD COAT THE INSIDE AFTER CLEANING, IT WORKED BUT AFTER A WHILE IF WOULD FLAKE OFF AND PLUG THE FILTER. SNAP ON MADE A CAMERA ON THE END OF A LONG FLEX PIPE, YOU COULD PEEK IN FOR A LOOK SEE. GOOD LUCK

I plugged the bottom of my original tank and then poured in about 5 lbs of bbs. Then poured in hot water and detergent. I capped the tank and rolled it around for about 45 mins. Then I emptied the tank and rinsed with several changes of water followed by a gallon of 95% grain alcohol and allowed to dry. Then I sprayed a little kerosene in there since it would have been a few days before I installed it and filled with gas. Have never had any trouble since installation.
