Absolutely. Never met him, but I watched those videos he did when I first got into this stuff and read many many things over the years from him. Such a sad loss for one of the greats in the hobby.

Had heard about Fred for a long time. Finally met him on the 2005 Hillbilly Tour, based in Broken Arrow. Indeed a huge loss to the Model T world.

Fred was totally a great T officianado. Always willing to share lots of T experience and a great listener, even when my questions were a little on the ignorant side. A friend of mine has his Indian motorcycle and side car and it is safe and sound with a fellow who appreciates it as much as Fred did, I will miss Fred.

Never had the opportunity to meet the man, but his name speaks volume. A lost, but we must continue in his name and pass what we know.

God Speed!

Mike Bender: Thank you for letting us know of Fred's passing. Even though there will be those who cannot attend the services, please post the services here for everyone when completed by the family. I only had contact with Fred a few months in 1999 when we spoke of rebuilding the transmission in our '26 Runabout, which was done by him, and possibly with your help Mike at the Model T Garage. We will keep him in our prayers along with his family.

I am so sorry to hear this, even though I have known for some time that Fred's health was deteriorating. Fred was a Past President of the MTFCA, a Rosenthal Award winner, and a good friend. He was always eager to help a fellow Model T'er in any way he could. This is a great loss to our community.

I met Fred when he came to California when he was inducted into the Model T Speedster Hall of Fame.
I read things he wrote with great interest.

I didn't know Fred, but am sorry to hear of such a loss to our hobby. Would it be appropriate to suggest that his contributions be made available in the form of his posts? You know, anything that he contributed put into an accessible format for others in the future.

If you visit the MTFCA Museum In Richmond ....

The plane that hangs from the ceiling was donated by the Houston Family - one of several generous donations made.

I met Bill Houston last Summer.

I never had the chance to meet his father Fred or his mother - Bill had his hands full running the family storage business and taking care of his parents.

A Good Son.

We need to pay due respect - honor - gratitude while
Legends are still among us.

I was talking with Mike Bender who was sitting with Fred at the Centennial. Fred conversed with me liked we had known each other for years even though we had just met.

My prayers are with the family.

Never met the man, but his knowledge, accomplishments were many, and you could always take his advice to the bank. I agree with Trent's assessment. Wishing comfort for his family.
