Re: Mr Frugal meet your match-Video
What a wonderful machine. I have hand stitched too many things like that. There are probably dozens of those machines just sitting idle around the country. If only I had room for one.
Thanks for the entertainment.

Love it! Why can't all sewing machines have steerable presser feet?

What model sewing machine is that? Looks like an old Singer. I have a friend that needs one like that.

Everybody in Montana knows him if they have any involvement with horses, especially Draft horses. He built the wagons for the Borax 100th anniversary that were in the Rose Parade in Pasadena.

Re: Mr Frugal meet your match-Video
Oh it's a Singer class 29. They were designed for cobblers and I think harness makers. They're big and have a walking beam, and I want one, but then I'd have to learn bootmaking to justify it, and...

Re: Mr Frugal meet your match-Video
It's a 29-4 Singer. I have one sitting in my living room. The last thing I made on it was a custom fan belt for a friends 26. Most of the time I have to turn the hand wheel with my right hand and try and feed a straight line with my left because of my bad left ankle/foot. My left ankle no longer has enough rotation and just have not got the timing down just using my right. The clicking the one on the video sounds just like mine.

That was a neat repair on his shoe! That'll keep the spatter out.
His videos are always a pleasure to watch. Borax wagon rear wheels are 1000 lbs each. They make it look easy.

Re: Mr Frugal meet your match-Video
Singer 29 series cobbler/leather machines are not rare, at least up here in Minnesota.
I occasionally see them at estate sales and they do show up on Craigslist.
Right now, there is a Singer 29K71 on Minneapolis Craigslist:

If you are patient, you can probably obtain one for a substantially less money than the above.
