Speedometer cable fell off.

Yesterday I went for a drive and noticed my speedometer quit working. Its on a 1923 Fordor. When I put the car away I could see that it slipped off and was laying across a tie rod and appears to be undamaged. I see the worm gear and it looks good. I haven't waded through the grease yet to see how its attached or how to put it back on. Is there a magic trick to make it stay on?

It should have a nut that screws onto the output of the swivel drive.

Make sure the slot and key are lined up when you screw the nut back on.

Can you post a photo ? Some Stewart drives had a tapered pin holding the swivel halves together rather than a threaded bolt & nut.
