R.V.

Did you make the coils for the 1904 Model B for KD ?

Andrew

Not sure if I understand your post but Watson’s BBQ just received the honor of Best BBQ in New Mexico by Yelp - as voted by customers - they have a 5 ⭐️ rating - even if you don’t eat BBQ 🍖
they are worth visiting for an authentic Route 66 and True New Mexico experience ... 😎

1904 Model B Coils

Post by FreighTer Jim » Sat Mar 07, 2020 12:13 pm

Hi R.V. ✋

The 1904 Model B had no coils in it when I picked it up so KD sent you some I guess.

He is driving to Chickasha with Don.

They pretty much did most of the mechanical restoration labor on the Model B.

Yes, seems weird, but have found a fix. On the iPhone, prior to posting your photo, open image, then click EDIT , click the rectangle crop icon, ,then, on top of the edit page, click on the rotate image arrow icon, then rotate that image around 360 degrees, hit DONE. Then post that image, PRESTO, your image will appear correct side up! Don't know why, but it works for me ;)

Thanks guys. I promise when we get there everything will be right side up. Looking forward to the pizza feed. My best memory of those events in the past was many years ago when I was there and Bruce McCauley walked in. I shouted ALL RISE! When they saw who it was they did so. My dad worked for Bruce’s father at Pac Bell. They always had a nice conversation at Chickasha talking about the old days. This will be my first Chickasha without dad. He passed away two weeks ago. One of his favorite quotes about the meet was from our friend Gil Belcher with the Dodge Brothers club: Chickasha is a lot like sex. You just want to do it one more time!

The side ways pictures always stay side ways on my computer when I click on them. What I have figured out is that you need to hold your iPhone sideways when taking the photo. That is the only way I can get them to show up right. It has something to do with the camera settings in the phones.

Erik,

The Torch Passes.

Thank God there are Good Sons to carry on.

You - Mark Chaffin.

Living Legends like Kim Dobbins who lend resources to Epic Endeavors like The 1904 Ford Model B that you had a hand in bringing back to Life.

Dean Yoder who is unlike anyone else.

Kim & Jerry Kramer who as I post this are
on The Florida Winter Tour with Cosmo.

Legacy is created - earned - remembered out of passion and hard work and selfless contribution.

Family Grows - Family Endures.

I am so very grateful for all of the people I have met and had the opportunity to study and observe and learn from.

Not far at all....coming from north of Houston. Getting through the DFW metro-mess on Thursday is always the biggest challenge.

My wife's cousin lives less than a half hour from Chickasha so we always bunk with him for free....gotta love that.

Thanks Jim. We're on the far north side of the Houston metro...so, that's not typically the issue.

The last two trips to Chickasha, it's been ugly getting through Dallas on Thursday morning.

The last two trips to Chickasha, it's been ugly getting through Dallas on Thursday morning.

Years ago when I had the sign business I went to a lot of swap meets, and before I had a trailer I took a helper to assist with setting up. On one trip to Conroe the helper was a young guy who had always lived in a small town. He insisted that I drive through Dallas because the traffic scared him. I was born and raised in southern California so real traffic doesn't frighten me, but it does get annoying. :)

My drive to Chickasha is only about three hours.

I'm about 20 minutes drive from the fairgrounds in Conroe where they have the swap meet.

I have the same state of mind about big city traffic. I've seen it all over the world and it doesn't scare me...it's just annoying. FWIW, Manilla traffic was by far, the worst I've ever seen. Worse than LA, Houston, New York, etc.

Yaaaay!!...The New Braunfels 175 anniversary parade has been canceled due to that Corona thing so that commitment to drive a T hauling DRT ladies is history ! Now I can drive 7 hours to Chickasha !!!😁😁
I don’t know why I turned out this way. My parents were decent people 🤪

Plans are changing and I may be working west not east thanks to this virus closing school and double the spring break time. If thats the case I will instead be heading east and south from the meet with an empty trailer. I wouldnt mind hauling something for some help on fuel . . .

round trip to answer the original question 4200 miles

I would assume there is alot of deals that have been made and folks will just be meeting in the parking lot, making their exchanges and leaving even though the main event is sadly canceled.

Mack, every time that I've been there was a chain link fence around the parking lot, and if the event is cancelled and the county doesn't unlock the gate, there won't be any way for anyone to gather to sell or trade parts.

Ok so the question is now, how far did you drive before you had to turn around and go home? I went about 600 miles.
