That’s a nice photo. Makes you wonder what the bldg looked like if it it was in color and not a recolorized version. Don’t know if it was touched up before. Maybe it was recently built when the photo was taken.

That is a nice picture and it shows at least 3 forms of transportation ... Horse & buggy ... Automobile ... Walking.

Thats not an ordinary rectangle building. It wraps the corner at an angle. Nice detail to.

According to a history of Waterford, Virginia:
The handsome Cadillac motoring past admirers at the Corner Store above is a 1912 model belonging to Robert Walker, the wealthy Quaker businessman who lived at Huntley on High Street. Mrs. Walker is chaperoning her daughter who is driving. The man sitting wearing hat is Charles Merchant, the man standing is doorway is "Hoss" Merchant, the boy on bread box is Earl Brown, the man driving car is Maurice Hough, the woman in front seat is Miss Cornelia Walker, and the woman in back seat is Mrs. Robert Walker.

It's impossible to see all the stars on that flag, but it's a 48 star flag from Feb. 14, 1912 when Arizona became a state. There was no 47 star flag since New Mexico was admitted January 6, 1912. With only a few weeks between the two sates they just went from 46 stars to 48 stars in one adjustment. The flag in the photo can be identified as a 48 star flag due to the fact that the star rows are in straight lines, 6 rows of eight stars each. The 46 star flag had four rows of eight stars and two rows of seven stars, so they were staggered. It's not the earlier flag either. The 45 star flag (1896-1908) also had staggered rows.

Anyhow, that's how I understand it.
