It's really earlier than I need to, but I'm already researching campgrounds and planning routes for touring season. I'm not ready to go, but I'm ready to go, if that makes sense.

Perfect sense Steve. If you come trough Amish land, you have a place to stay. Not as bright as Walmart lot but stars are pretty bright.

I want to do the OCF trip again if they'll let me back in.

Planning T events is FUN
I’m planning on the Sierra Vista tour in February
Then Borrego in early March and the AZ speedster in in late March
Cal Dreamin’ in late April
Billings in July
Somewhere I have to plug in swap meets to Chickasha, Bakersfield and Long Beach
That enough planning for now.....

I don't know why they wouldn't let you back in the OCF so let's assume a return to Michigan is in offing. If I may be so bold, I'd like to suggest a change in routing for your return trip.

For many people the only image they have of Michigan is Detroit and it's urban areas. For the real Michigan you have to get off the beaten track a bit. May I suggest that you consider a return route that would take you north from Detroit to the Mackinaw Bridge, thence west along the shore of Lake Michigan and into Northern Wisconsin, etc. Beautiful country - numerous secondary roads that are in great condition and go where you need to go, numerous Model T people with well-equipped shops and a penchant for helping distressed travelers, Walmarts and McDonalds at convenient locations along the route - everything for a great trip. I will personally extend my offer of assistance - from trailer services to a place to stay if you wish. Indeed, my door is open to anyone of the Model T community that wishes to experience the fair state of Michigan.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best. Your journeys have been an inspiration to many, including me.

I must agree with Tim. Michigan has many great roads and some of the best scenery you can find. The Mighty Mac is a 5 mile view of the great lakes that cant be beat. I myself along with some friends are planning a couple trips on the back roads in Michigan again this year.

Tim is spot on. We drive that route every summer in modern iron, it's beautiful with little traffic. The west shore of Michigan north from Traverse City is perfect T touring habitat. Enjoy the ride! jb
