...only the old timers out there will remember them. Often they were objects of art. Mementos of a grand time and sometimes prominently displayed on wood dashes and radiator cores..
...Do any tour chairpersons offer these anymore?
For the uninitiated, maybe some graybacks will post pictures of theirs.

Here are a few I have from one drawer. They don't seem very photogenic today.

I was on the ‘76 VMCCA Glidden Tour too Rich !!
Drove an amateur restored (me) ‘23 touring up Pikes Peak. Later that day I parked it next to a Deusenberg. That owner told me to please move it way over there under those trees...

We provide "tour plaques" for our annual "Can-Am" Model T tours here in the Pacific Northwest & Canada albeit no longer brass !

We get one for completing the tour season and one if you are tour leader. The are aluminum with magnets on the back. Mine are on the refrigerator.

I have been asked to design several tour and car show plaques since 1963 0r 4. The 2 at upper left in my first photo are mine. These are some more. The lower swap meet ones are silk screened on brass and don't always come out nice. The 73rd Glidden was printed professionally.
Many participants enjoy getting them but we tend to misplace them. Eventually we will put them on a board but with 100 or more it will be a big one.

Yours is not an entirely unique story: I went on a tour one time in FL with a national club which generally will not allow most T's, but in this case, did, to I think pump up their numbers (like triple it). I was sitting with a lovely older lady one afternoon during social hour and she remarked to me "you know, I just love to visit places like this because they treat us like we're really special...which, of course, everyone knows we are!". I told her it was nice that she thought so and promptly went to work seeking out classier company in the room.

An interesting side line to this post, is the current 100 year old plates that are available from the HCCA. I wonder why anyone would want to screw one of these to their firewall, especially if the year of the car is known! To me it is simple math without the holes in your firewall.

These 1950 era plaques came with a vehicle I purchased several years ago. Maybe Bill Harrah also participated on these tours.

I've been going to the Old Car Festival for 57 years -- not miss a one. Narrated the event for 35 years. Obviously, the event is important to me. It started in 1950 and I've no collected a all the dash plaques from 1950. They still give them out.
