My HCCT #2 - From Junk to Done

Post by BE_ZERO_BE » Fri Mar 13, 2020 6:20 pm

I finally finished my HCCT #2 - A motorized Allen Electric unit.
Allen Electric never made a motorized HCCT - Only KR Wilson did.
I did use the same exact motor that the KRW unit has.
So, in that vane, it is "Period Correct".
The final RPM of the flywheel is 157 RPM.

Lovely work and great choice on the motor. I have that model in 1/3 HP powering a 9" lathe and it is a sweet, smooth and quiet motor.

Looks great. How did you add the missing area of the casting?

I had a machinist friend do the work.
He squared off the broken area and made a piece to fit.
It is siver-soldered in place.
