When did the pan nose support change

Post by JTT3 » Wed Mar 25, 2020 9:31 pm

I was selecting a needle nose pan to repair for an early block. As I lined a few up I recalled that the support for the nose of the pan was longer an surrounded the oil drip hole on the early but guess I didn’t realize that it was not the case for later needle nose pan. When did that change? Tried to look it up in Bruce’s book and on line but nothing clear on the date. Any one know? Thanks John
