Weight of fully assembled flywheel?

What is the typical weight of a flywheel c/w ring gear, magnets and hardware?
We took about 10 lb out of this one:

Approx. 52 lbs. —- flywheel, ring gear, and magnets assembled.

A 20% mass reduction = x% reduction in strength? Have you calculated the value for x? Drive careful.

Any reduction in strength would depend entirely on where the material was removed. Then factor in what is expected of the flywheel - I doubt the user expects to install the normal Model T magnets, with no magnets, the flywheel needs to support the ring gear and forces from the starter as well as provide the balancing effect of the flywheel. 10 pound reduction should be no problem if carefully done.

Hi there Walt, didn't see your reply until now.
Turns out this user IS going to install normal Model T Magnets. I love my coils. Having said that, I'm optimistic the missing material won't be fatal.
Anyways, here's hoping the engine holds together, and most important, that the world settles enough that we can still meet in Spokane on Labour Day for my favourite event of the year.
Looking at these photos from the 2018 run, one might wonders if that "comfort with closeness" will ever return...

High Chris, I didn't remember if you used coils or the D word. Many speedster folks lose the magnets but must admit they have a real charm when tuned right. Those Montana 500 folks prove T coils are up for the task.
I'm with you in hoping we can get together again over Labor Day weekend. Quality time at home is great and safe and all that but I'm already missing getting out and about with car friends.
