Got it. East on Schoolhouse Road to County Line/Mountain, then north. That last bump bump near the end is the bridge at Sugar Mill Creek.

Correct again Steve! I am planning another long drive, but, I may not be able to squeeze it in tomorrow? It will cover more new territory!

#9 has two crossings of Sugar Mill Creek at the start, first going north on County Line Road, then east on CR 150 South. After turning north on CR 900 W we cross McFarland Ditch, then IN 32, and end at Division Road. I'm learning some local geography with this exercise. :)

#10: East on Division, across IN 25, then north on CR 750 W. Pretty good speed for gravel roads, a little over 30 mph.

#11 is a little tricky. It starts headed north on CR 750 W, goes west across IN 25 on CR 150 N, then north on CR 875. There's a cut and we find that we're in Waynetown going north on Holman Street, then east on US 136 (Washington Street) four blocks, and finally turning south on Plum Street before the fadeout.
The inevitable often happens.

875W turns into Holman Street. I turned off the camera because we have seen that stretch of road several times. Then I realized that I never have filmed coming into town. So, I turned it back on.

Both town and country this time. Backing out of the garage we then go west in the alley to Vine. Skipping the stop for gas at the F&F Mart, we go south a block on Holman, then West on Walnut two blocks to Carolyn, north a block to Washington/US 136, and west out of town. The next turn is north on County Line Road, where we fade out after crossing Coal Creek.
The inevitable often happens.

Did every one wave at the Birthday Boy? The town put together a little parade with police car, fire truck, bucket truck, tractors, cars, trucks, golf carts, UTV's and even a couple of lawn mowers and did a drive by for the little guy since he could not have a party.

For this drive I switched the GoPro to Wide Angle. Do you guy's think it looks better than the Linear setting that I have been using?

In #2 we continue north on County Line/1000 W, crossing over I-74 then turning east on CR 500 N and fading out at IN 25.

#3 continues east across IN 25 on CR 500 N. Wet fields and lots of standing water tell us there's been a pretty good storm recently. All of this one is on CR 500 N, ending as we get to CR 610 W.

#4 begins just after the turn from CR 500 N onto CR 610 W headed south. There's a short jog west on CR 450 N, then south again on CR 625 W, across I-74 again, and turning west on CR 350 N. At CR 750 W we turn south again and fade out.

In #5 we're going south on CR 750 W across Sommer Ditch and the old railroad grade to US 136 where we turn west by the two big Harvestores. We take US 136/Washington Street through most of Waynetown to Carolyn Street, south a block to Walnut, and back east to home. I'm enjoying navigating these drives.

I still have not had the time to do the longer drive that I have planned. But, don't worry, I did get the roadster out Saturday and did another short drive. We will see some familiar territory. I do think I hit one road that we had not been down? We will let Steve figure out witch road?? I will upload the first episode tonight, so that I can post it tomorrow.

The roadster ride takes us east in the alley to Plum, half a block south, turns west on Walnut at the Baptist church, south on Vine to Pyle Street at the south edge of town, west to CR 875 W, and south, ending at CR 200 N. I bet we're going to turn west. :)

We're going north this time. After filling up at the F & F Mart we go east on Washington Street through Waynetown and out of town on US 136, turning north on CR 750 W, then east on CR 350 N, then north on CR 650 W and fading out before crossing the interstate.

Great job there Steve, predicting that we will head straight on and not turn right! Here is episode #2 from our "social distancing" drive on 5/9/2020. Can any body guess where we are heading?
Enjoy!

In this part we go northeast then north on CR 625 W, then east on CR 450 N to Old State Road 55. Are we going to Wingate? Crawfordsville? We'll see.

Our venture into new territory takes us southeast on Old State Highway 55, then north on CR 400 W. It looks like we're speeding along, but north of Liberty Chapel I get an average of 27.27 mph. I have a suspicion of where we're headed. I wonder if we'll see Gene at the Hickory Cafe. :)

Dave, "Hoosiers are Indiana U down in Bloomington. Purdue would be "Boiler Maker". I drive to Lafayette every day for work. I work for a small company. You may have heard of it. It's called Caterpillar. We make little engines that only put out between 2500 and 10,000 horse power.

Steve, is correct again!! We are heading to New Richmond. That is were they filmed part of the movie "Hoosiers" staring Gene Hackman. I doubt that we will see him at the Hickory Café any time soon. All though we do know that he has been there before!

#4 is all going north on CR 400 W, ending just south of New Richmond.
In #5 we go into New Richmond on Wabash, west on Washington to the cemetery, and back into town.
#6 goes through town on Washington and turns south on New Richmond Road.

In #8 we're going east on CR 700N, then south on CR 100W. An interesting point seen here is Mount Pleasant Cemetery, which is all grass with no roads.

I wanted to drive in close and get a good picture of the round barn. But, they have up graded the security there since the last time I was by there. There were 3 of them around the county that I can remember. This one is the only one that has always been maintained. I may look an see if the others are even still standing?

There are several old cemeteries around here with no visible road. I assume that at one time there was? There are some tucked away back in the woods that have no current access at all.

Here is a round barn we have in Wisconsin. It is really octagonal I think.

Isn't there a huge round barn on Route 66 in Oklahoma?

I bet if you drove your Model T up the driveway and asked them if you could get a picture next to the barn they would not say no.

No more guesses? If you watch closely, you will see the right head light ring fall off. It took me several minutes to realize it myself, you can hear me say " the head light rim fell off" about 2 minutes into this next video. We must have lost Steve, I bet that he is back there looking for that headlight rim and lens? We will go back and pick him up.

Now we have come to the final episode of this "social distancing" drive. No worries though, we have another one coming and it is a long one!

Scott, I watched that a couple of times and still can't see that rim come off. I can see it is missing, but that is it. I am also amazed at how flat it is by you. You live on a pool table. No hills and especially no traffic. Is everyone staying in their houses? Lots of traffic here in Wisconsin and the stay at home does not expire until the 26th, but here it is just a recommendation. I drove my T in a 60 mile circle yesterday and I still had to dodge traffic.

Watch the rivet on the top of the right head light. It starts to float around and then drops off. You may need to click on the little gear at the bottom right and set the video to 1080P in order to clear it up enough to see. I did go back and pick it up. The glass lens survived the fall!! The rivet pins on the rim are gone. It had been loose and rattling for a while.

There is traffic on the highways and main roads. Most of the time I am on rural roads. The small towns are about 6 miles apart here, most of witch only have 300 - 800 residents. The fact that there are not many homes on most these roads combined with the virus thing, is why we are not seeing much traffic. The terrain gets a little more rolling as we go south or get close to Sugar Creek, or the Wabash River.

Anyone is more then welcome to post a video!!

I got sidetracked for a few days, so it's time to catch up. #11 is straightforward. West on CR 300 N and south on CR 525 W to US 136.

In #12 I didn't catch it, but the road did. You hear it hit the pavement right at the turn east onto US 136. From there we go east to CR 400 W, south to CR 100 N, and west to end at the turn onto CR 500 W.

#13 takes us south on CR 500 W, west on Division Road across mill Creek, and ends still headed west on Division.

In #14 we turn north off Division onto CR 650 W and continue north until the camera poops out just north of Christian Union Church.

Screen Shot 2020-05-27 at 10.55.03 PM.png

That last one is pretty tricky. You can't get there from here. We're way off in another county, following the touring west on CR 450 N. Then it gets interesting. O'er the fields we go, T-ing all the way. The private "road" takes us through fields and woods for a very scenic drive. It looks like we end up in the neighborhood of Rattlesnake Creek and Bear Creek.

Wow, great job there Steve!! You are almost 100% correct. You picked right up on the only bread crumb that I left for you!! The only detail that you missed was that is a roadster pickup that I was following and not a touring car. I am not sure how you missed that? Now, can you identify the other driver?

Once you look carefully you see the RP. But I was concentrated on something else—navigating. :)
No close-up of the other driver, at least not close enough for me, so I don't know who it is.

Yep, familiar territory in Episode 1. West in the alley to Vine, south to Pyle, west to CR 875 W, and south ending at CR 200 N.

All this Indiana driving around has me thinking of Herb. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2_jk_g36Lg

One road, two names. We're going west on CR 200 N, then we cross the county line and it becomes Carlson Road.

West on Carlson Road, north on Scottsdale, and west on CR 350 S. Looks like we're on our way to Hillsboro or near there.

Good navigation there, Steve. We are just south of Hillsboro coming up to SR341. You will have to wait for the next episode to see if we head north to Hillsboro? Or, not?

I have not seen Steve in a while. I wonder if he took that turn back there and went on into Hillsboro? I hope he catches back up with us, he might miss the treat coming up in the next episode!

Scott,

Thank you for taking us along on your travels. I do have a couple of good news / bad news comments, however.

The good news is that whenever I need to make a pit stop I don't have to ask you to pull over. I just hit Pause, go do my thing, and come back and Resume you. If all of us old guys were riding along in real life, you'd have to stop every five minutes.

The bad news is that I'm not accustomed to all the flat land and straight roads. I watched one episode 3 times before I realized my mistake. That car we passed was the same color every time. After that I started keeping track of episode numbers.

Scott,

Glad to be among your many passengers. One thing for sure, it's not me holding the camera. If it were, you'd get seasick with the image waving around all the time ! Does the camera have image stabilization ?

That looks like they might even have homemade ice cream. Don't forget the root beer. I see you made it to civilization. A few hills, asphalt roads, and even some curbs n sidewalks. Too hot today to go for a run - 90. Had a nice run on Saturday with the Milwaukee club and let my son drive the T home.

Steve is busy on facebook. Maybe he can chime in later tonite.

Yes, the GoPro Hero 7 Black has digital image stabilization. It works pretty well.

That was a nice refreshing stop! Now, let's get out of civilization, and back on the country roads!! Maybe we will find Steve some where? I hope he did not get lost?
Here is episode #8.

I tried to post last night, but my work fell down an electronic technology hole and I didn't feel like starting over. As I was saying before I was rudely forced into the virtual ditch, #4 is a scenic drive west on CR 350 S, north about half a mile on CR 400 E, and west on Bonebrake Road.

All of #5 is westbound on Bonebrake Road, ending at CR 100 E (US 41).

In #6 we cross US 41 and continue west on Bonebrake Road, then turn north on Trestle Road (CR 30 E). Soon Trestle Road angles northwest, then goes west and then northwest again as Underpass Road.

At the start of #7 we cross the East Fork of Coal Creek then turn north on Kingman Road. That takes us into Veedersburg on Mill Street. We meet up with the RP and turn east on US 136 (Second Street), cross Coal Creek, and stop at Hershey's Drive-in. I'll have a double cone. I hope they have mint chocolate chip and butter brickle.

In #8 we leave Hershey's and go back west on Second Street, North on Railroad Street, a block east on Fifth, then north on Indiana Avenue which takes us out of town. We fade out north of I-74.
