I am sorting boxes of T nuts and bolts. There are LOTS of different sizes and types. I did not really appreciate the differences until I have been sorting. Engine, trans, axle, diff, starter, gen, - the list continues - all tossed in boxes as cars were dismantled.

Some time ago I saw a chart (Excel spreadsheet?) a member had made of (most) bolt sizes.
Does anyone have such a chart or detail list with use, size and (if possible) T part number for bolts and nuts?

I pulled this off of the forum a while ago and I'm not sure but I think Mr. Jelf posted it.

I've seen this bolt sizing spreadsheet before and noted that there are a few missing items.

Any idea who owns or maintains this data as it would be good to see it expanded and, hopefully, completed.

The fastener PDF was done many years ago by one of the Colorado T clubs. Apparently the folks who were working on it ran out of steam, as I've never found any updates of the missing items.

As Jim pointed out when he posted this, it shows wrench sizes, not thread sizes or lengths.

Here is some more info from previous MTFCA posts. If someone can convert the PDF to a spreadsheet or has the data in a spreadsheet I think I can create a cross reference: that is, given a nut or bolt size list all the places its used.

I will apologize in advance as someone sent this to me years ago as a PDF. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue as to credit other than I 'think' it was maybe someone from Tulsa or NWS at the time? Thats as close as I can remember.

It was obviously in a spreadsheet format at one time and converted...but since I went with a MacBookAir I don't have any Adobe software to convert it back I also appear to not know how to insert a PDF file...but you get the idea....its there...

I have a version of the Excel spreadsheet that dates back to Nov, 2009. It has the names of Joe Boyers and Robert Ducharme at the top. I also have a later version with Steve Jelf's name added. I don't know if additional information has been added but I know someone put in a lot of effort to put this together originally.

Has anyone added to this chart lately? I will be glad to share the spreadsheet if you send me an email.

Those guys in the Colorado club did the work. All I've done is repost it a few times.

The above chart is actually a Ford Canada chart from their service bulletins. Dated February 1925 Page 68 & 69
it was reprinted in a Vintage Ford magazine in the 1980's ( not sure which one) The Colorado version would have come from that chart or the Ford USA Bulletins if it was printed in their version.
Here is a photo of the original I just took from my set of Ford Canada bulletins.

The cotter pin pdf is hard to read. Anyone check me on this?

You have the cotter pins correct/


Connecting Rod cap bolt and nut 3/8"- 24 x 2" length

Connecting Rod Clamp bolt 3/8"-24 x 1 1/16" length

C.S. Main Rear bolt 1/2"-20 x 4 1/32"

C.S. Main Center and Front bolt 1/2"-20 x 6 3/16" length

Part number 2584B is 13/32-16, confirmed by Dan Hatch and others recently.

I've been a nut and bolt freak for years. I built a 1925 Pickup using 95% original bolts. If you've been at this as long as I have, you don't need a chart! A lot of the bolts I used are NOS. Many of them I got years ago from Bob Bergstadt Sr. when I dropped in for a visit.

Hi Larry, that is actually why I am trying to amend the chart as myself (and a lot of us here) haven't been at it all that long and we don't really want to lose your knowledge and expertise.

When I post the draft chart would you mind looking at it to fill in gaps or spot errors for me please?

Does anyone have the Ford Canada Service Bulletin Feb 1925?

If so, can you SCAN the spanner chart (posted above) in high quality = each page in say A4 format? OR A3 format if your combo printer/scanner has a larger table.

A higher quality scan would help me a lot combining this diagram with the new draft chart I am working on. My version is too grainy when enlarged for numbers to be legible.

The Canadian Spanner chart by Ford Canada was reprinted in the Vintage Ford magazine January/ february 1984 Vol 19 No 1
It is the centrefold.
