Early Brass Headlamps
Does anyone know how the glass reflectors were attached to the 1910 style E&J model 466 headlamp? I think the early Browns had three lead tabs that threaded into the body inside but I'm not familiar with how E&J did it.

This is the only one I have seen and assume it is original. The retainer is soldered to the shell 4 places near the white dots.
When did I do that?

Re: Early Brass Headlamps
Most E & J lamps used this large C-shaped ring to hold the mirror. The pins fit into diagonal slots in the lamp body so that rotating the ring back and forth moves the ring in and out. Once the adjustment is satisfactory, the brass machine screw is tightened to hold the adjustment.
This piece was used on Model 666 and later models for sure; I don't know if it was used before then or not. I make these; you can order from me or get it from Lang's or Snyder's.

Re: Early Brass Headlamps
My 466 E&J headlight reflectors are held in by a sheet metal ring that is soldered to the lamp body. The 1913 steel body lamps use the flat metal retainer like RV posted.
