Not a Model T question but don't know who else to ask though it is a Ford. I have a 97 Ford Ranger 4WD. The inside front wheel bearing self-distracted and the inner race is ceased to the spindle. I can't get it off. I was thinking heat but, concerned that it might damage the spindle or I was thinking using a Dremel tool to cut it. Has anyone ever had this problem? Would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks loads and everyone keep healthy.

I’ve cut off a number of inner bearing races from rear axles using a cutting torch. Doesn’t bother the axle a bit as the race heats and burns before significant heat can transfer to the axle.

You may also try a good ‘ol fashioned cold chisel. Drive it directly into the outer diameter of the bearing race with a couple sharp blows, and it may well crack the ring and allow easier removal

Be sure to measure the spindle after removal, as the bearing may have destroyed the support surface on the spindle when it spun

I agree with Kevin re: cold chisel. I'd only add that if you can get in there with a dremel or other tool and create a small groove to lay the chisel into, it will hold it and provide a stress point to work on. WEAR SAFETY GLASSES AND FACE SHIELD!

got it off using a Dremel made a slit in it and hit with cold chisel. Itmust have spun the spindle is kinda hauled up but, with pastence and a smooth flat file I'll get it. Thanks for the suggestions.
