27 fordor spare tire carrier question
On my 27 fordor the spare tire carrier wheel mounting plate is bent in slightly at the bottom I am thinking it should be flat.

Re: 27 fordor spare tire carrier question
On that gooseneck rim carrier, the triangular plate should be flat.
But the plate is welded to the tube at a slight angle so the mounted tire on the rim won't hit the body.

Re: 27 fordor spare tire carrier question
My '27 touring car spare tire carrier appears identical to the Fordor carriers in the various photos, and mine came with wood wheels.

Re: 27 fordor spare tire carrier question
Most likely scenario was that the carrier originally sported the split rim "Y" and was backed into something - with the leverage of the attached "Y", I would assume it would/could have bent the flat plate.
