I can't find anyone to replate my rear view accessory mirror. It is an early style. There doesn't seem to be anyone in Southern California that can do this any more. Can anyone recommend a source? I don't care where it is.

Larry, I assume you want the mirror glass re-silvered - not metal parts plated ?
If so, I’m interested too, I have a pair of gas headlight reflectors that need to be re-silvered. “More research is indicated !”

Because you live in Los Angeles county, I would think that if you looked in the yellow pages you would find at least one shop that does re-silvering in Los Angeles or Orange County.
I did some Googling for you and there are a few shops that do re-silvering of glass mirrors in LA:
https://www.google.com/search?q=mirror+ ... e&ie=UTF-8
Another option is to ask local stain glass/leaded glass shops if they know somebody in the area that does re-silvering.
Otherwise, contact Alchemy Mirror Resilvering in St. Paul:

The above is a one-man operation. His wife was a college classmate of mine. I had him re-silver a medicine cabinet mirror for me about 20 years ago. He has also re-silvered carbide lamp glass reflectors, sideview mirrors and rearview mirrors for some of the local antique auto guys.
Years ago, all major cities had glass and mirror shops that also did re-silvering. Unfortunately, shops that do re-silvering are few and far between. In many cases, it's easier just order a new custom mirror.

You can always try it yourself.

Watch the you-tube video and you can see it's a doable project for the home shop.
