I am having problems with aligning the front half of the brake band with the wheel hub on my ford. I just reline the brakes bands and did not change any thing else. I have included two photo, I hope they show the problem I am having. Thanks for the help.

Ralph sometimes just disturbing the band material they will track differently. If they are not running to close to the spokes and after adjusting, take it for a test ride. See how they are tracking afterwards. Sometimes you may have to use a small profile machine spacing washers to get them to come outward. Dumb question, did you also install axle shims, and did the wheel hubs reseat good? Sometimes it could be a jammed keyway. I would just recheck little things first.

Hope this Helps,

Hank

Is the new lining wider then the old? Looks like it is wider then the steel band.

Henry and Mark thanks for your response. Henry I thought about and a shim on the back side of brake band. The shim would not move the band nearly enough. The band has to be move about a 1/4" toward the wheel.
Mark you are correct the band is little under an 1/8" wider than the band. The bands came from Lang's. I gave Bud of Rocky Mt Brakes a call today and he gave me a couple of suggestion that I will look at later this week.
