Another Stevens tool for the collection

Post by dobro1956 » Mon Apr 27, 2020 1:51 am

I was able to add one more Stevens tool to the collection. It is not complete and probably not a real useful tool, but it has the original box. It is missing all 15 of the threaded inserts. If anyone has any of the inserts I would love to get at least one to put in the box.

What a nice item Donnie. Thanks for posting the photos. If you don't have any luck finding inserts, you could make some using old head bolts.

I have the same set with the inserts, I agree, it is not a very useful tool.

Andrew. Yes, I had thought about making a set. Its a long shot, but was hoping to find some.
Humblej, could you measure the overall length of your inserts. I can figure out the rest, but a length would help.
Thanks

I disagree to their usefulness - I use mine whenever I need to clean off the top of a block AFTER cleaning the head bolt holes ! Simply install, clean the block surface, remove inserts & blow the holes out.

Steve, Thanks. I think they will be fairly easy to make. Ill just have to make a jig so all 15 will be alike ...

I'd a liked a wooden box kit - must have been an "early" version !

Thanks Steve. My kits are probably 1/2 wooden boxes and the other 1/2 are cardboard boxes.
