Does anyone have the correct factory data on the correct length of the hose for a '13-14 ? Earlier models are different. Next, the hose Ron Gocek supplied in his kits were apparently long enough for 1912 on back, but not for a '13-'14. It's too bad he doesn't supply the correct hose any more. The last run he had made was too big an O.D., and will not fit through the hole in the splash shield or the radiator holes! So much for research!

According to what I've heard, the original O.D. on that hose is 7/16" However 1/2" will work. I don't know if it is still being made, but I just found a length of air compressor hose in my garage that is probably at least 50 years old, and is 1/2" O.D. It is red, and has the exact same look that we are all after, and is 1/4" I.D. too! McMaster Carr has all kinds of red hose that fits, and is red too, but one would have to be able to go to their warehouse to look at all the samples they have to see for yourself.

I got some hose from snyders about 2 years ago that fit fine thru the hole in the apron of my fairly original’13 touring.

I received a length of red tubing from my T buddy in Canada - I'll measure it up, Larry.

Steve: Let me know what you find out! The air compressor hose I found looks right, and fits through the radiator side panels, but I can't force it through the hole in the splash shield. Even though the hose is still flexible it won't go through. Even though most people would never know, I hate to enlarge the hole in the splash shield to accommodate that hose! What I'd like to see is for Ron Gocek to start offering the correct hose again like he did years ago. 7/16 OD, and 1/4 ID.

I got red rubber tubing from Lang’s just a couple of years ago that measured up correctly. It had a sort of “fabric weave” light texture. My Lizzie spends summers outside, and the UV has not been kind to these hoses. It’s checking and fading some, though still viable. At one point I thought I read the original stuff was ribbed. Is that correct ? What kind of longevity was normal for the tubing “in the day” ?
I had the impression what I got was made for Bunsen burners in lab situations, so no worries about sunlight deterioration in that application.

Horrible Freight sells red airline hose. 5' for $5.69. It's their item # 98944. 1/4 inch ID. and 1/2" OD. You can remove the ink lettering with acetone. The package is called Swivel Whip Hose. Used it on my Torpedo and it looks great.

I bought some of the red hose, y'all suggested, from Harbor Freight yesterday. Looks good to me and the printed letters came right off.
Thanks
