I am ready to start on the wood floor in my 26 Roadster Pickup. Included in the repop bed flooring hardware package are three bolts the use for which is not readily obvious. They are longer than the bolts used to hold the boards together.

I have not done a '26, but on a '25 the long bolts go through the deck on the car. The short ones hold the bed strips on the part that sticks out past the rear deck. Don't forget to use the special square washers with the little tang on them too. If you are really interested in being original, the nuts are 1/2" across the flats, not 7/16".

When you say “deck”, are you referring to the metal floor of the roadster body? My body doesn’t have that metal floor. Maybe the kit is one size fits all.

Before you put the metal PU box on the car you built a wood platform surrounded with sheet metal. The hardwood "decking" of the metal box is held in place with metal strips that rest on top of the hardwood. The long bolts go through the metal strips, decking and the wood platform underneath. Short bolts are for the rear end of the decking as the platform does not go all the way back.
