exhaust pipe and cut out with a pedal

I want to figure out how a muffler goes on this pipe or whatever,I bought this pipe years ago because it has a cut out on it. The remains of the body work on the 26 I am making a speedster from had the pedal on it so I I need to know it would hook up and what is done to put the muffler on this pipe.It has a strange ridge running down the entire length and has more bends in it than I remember my pipes having on my other T's that I bought new pipes from the venders for.
Any ideas on installing a muffler and how the cut out and lever hook up? I would suppose there is a spring to close the cut out as there is a catch for it on 1 of the bolts.

Your exhaust pipe is original later pipe #4037C with the muffler built in the pipe, that front flange holds the 2 additional muffler shells, and then you need to add the end cap, by inserting a long enough bolt thru a metal cross plate which will extend out those two rectangular openings, and attach large cup washer and then a nut. Just like Ford made 'em. The seam is electric weld seam of the rolled tubing, factory Ford T.

For the cut-out, here is old time method of hook-up.

If you can gather an original end cap, then Lang's sells the shells only, #4025S should work, saving you $35 over a new muffler w/shells. Or get the whole thing, 4025B, the shells should be good, you only need the 2 outer, the pipe you have is the inner, just don't get the version with the welded ends.. :(

Making the bolt, finding a washer and nut is easy.

I found the old muffler from my TT that califlowered on me a few years back. I beat and twisted and messed and sure enough, the parts fit right on. I put a longer bolt in the flat peice of metal,a carriage bolt just like was in it,and then installed the parts. That old muffler gives me the end cap I needed. I will order that shell kit next week with my next parts order.
I apprecaite the input. The pipe is installed now and all I will have to do is hold the pipe in place and pull the end cap,put the parts on and reassemble. I put the heat wrap "tape" around the exhaust pipe from the manifold to the cutout, and then from the cut out to the muffler. It is what some folks call header wrap. I know it is not stock but I just feel better protecting the wood floor boards from the heat of the pipe and also any fuel lines.
