Looking through the local ads online today and this was just posted yesterday. Only an hour away so I had to buy it before some "yard art" person let's it outside to rot. It was purchased from an older couple that brought it from their neighborhood when he retired from farming back in 2000. His dad had made it for use on the farm. The axle is an Overland and I love the old reflectors and slow moving vehicle symbol painted on the back. I will clean it up, repair only what needs to be, and then "paint" it with Penetrol to keep the original paint and patina. It has an Acme style ball hitch so I would love to hook it up to a TT and see how she goes! I had to give $200, but I don't think I did too bad on the deal. I'll post some pictures when I'm done with it.

Randy, that is a beauty! It looks like the top sideboards are removable, and when they are removed, the tailgate can still be lowered. It would be a very practical in use. The double spring suspension may be problematic though. Without some means of shock absorbtion, it will be a springy/bouncy ride.
I agree it does not need any fiddling with. A brush coat of Penetrol will deepen the colour, as well as preserve the timber.

The rear tail reflector is really neat! To the right person it might bring more than you think! Not real common.
Neat find. Your right about a yard art person leaving it out to weather. In other words rot.

That is really nice. I have all the parts to build one including a hitch for my pickup. The reflectors are great. Takes some time to clean up but worth it. Not that I would on your trailer.
They reflect really well.

Thanks for the comments! I don't know why I geek out on this assessory stuff so much. The innertubes still hold air - I went to 30 psi and thought I'd quit there and not press my luck. Just a few more pic of the craftsmanship on this old trailer.

Wooden tit e loverly to be able to buy boards like those in the floor these days.
