Model T Gas Headlights Piping
I have an early 15 Roadster with gas lights, but it's missing all the piping between the lights and the carbide generator. Can anyone tell me how the gas line is routed from the generator to the head lights? All I have is new red rubber tubing and the short gas pipe section mounted across the bottom of the radiator, like on the 14 Ts? Where is the Tee fitting located? Where there clamps attached to the frame that held up the copper pipe? Was there any provision for a drain in gas line? Does anyone have any pictures that can be posted?
Thanks, Mark
Thanks, Mark

I've never heard of a factory equipped gas headlight system. If there was such a thing, it certainly did not use copper fittings.

Re: Model T Gas Headlights Piping
While maybe true from the factory with gas lights, but I have wondered about the early ones made in late 14 if they got the new style body and if they had gas or electric lights, same with the tourings that still had the 1914 carry over bodies built in early 15.
The fittings would have been brass. I think the copper ones sold by the suppliers are for show only, not for real use. Copper and acetylene make a nasty gas. You might try googling mtfca 1914 gas headlights

The 3 holes for the clamps are unique. How late were they provided?
This may help too.

Copper (or its alloys such as brass) and acetylene do form explosive acetylides, but in a properly functioning gas headlamp system they are carried off and burned in the lamps as soon as they form.

Early 15 open cars did come from the factory with gas headlights. I hate to say it, but who ever says they didn't is wrong.
