Curious about a Gardner carburetor. Understand that Gardner was a company that Ford contracted with to build NH Holley "type" carburetors. Anybody know anything about such a carburetor? Are they just like an NH Holley and will present-day NH Holley replacement parts fit the Gardner? How do they compare in quality to the NH Holley carbs built by Holley and the "Ford built" NH Holley, and also, how well (...or not) do they run? Thanks to anyone who has any knowledge ref Gardner carburetors for Model T's,......harold

I am not aware of Gardner having anything to do with making carburetors for Ford except as an aftermarket item. Without having one in hand don't think any NH parts would fit.

Curious if it's the same Gardner that built cars in the 20's? IIRC those had Continental motors in them...

I wonder what the difference is between this and an NH...

Mark - I think you're right. Not sure why I said,...."a company that Ford contracted with". I'm sure the Gardner carb was just an aftermarket carb either sold independently, or maybe sold by certain auto parts dealers or certain stores, like Western Auto Stores sold "Wizzard". I know that the Wizzard was more or less a "copy" of the NH Holley and I'm just wondering if perhaps the Gardner was also a copy and if "re-pop" NH Holley parts would fit the Gardner,....???

I was thinking about the Simmons/Wizard carb while I was writing my post and how close it is to the NH. Got me to wondering if they bought the rights for the NH straight thru and made some changes; the flapper, main jet, heating coil and spray needle being the only real differences. The rest of the casting sure looks like a NH straight thru, even where the name plate mounts.
Wish I could be more help re any parts from NH or even Kingston that might work.
