Not to long ago, someone posted pictures on redoing a TT top, I searched but can't seem to find it. Can anyone remember the name of the post? TT top gets me nowhere.

Rod, I believe it was mine. Here’s the link. Feel free to message me if you need anything. That’s mostly my fault. I changed the title to TT Progress.

Thanks Brad. With this and your post on the seats I should be able to do mine in the near future

Was the top covering the standard material? I have read that maybe convertible top material is better than the standard Cobra.

I used a nice leather grain tonneau cover from a truck bed. It was a blemished product from years ago. The area of material I used wasn’t damaged at all. Way cheaper than the cobra grain plus I really don’t like the cobra grain material. I do agree that it’s better. It’s definitely thicker and made to be out in the heat and direct sun.

I remember seeing in a parts book years ago, don't recall which one now, that a TT roof covering, I think it was for the enclosed cab, was listed as leather. Never had heard of that before or since or seen any other reference to that. Anyone else seen that or know anything about that? Dave

Would it be incorrect to assume it is the same material as the open cars? I don't think T's ever used cobra grain until later years for replacement.

To my knowledge, the only thing available right now in the “kits” is the cobra long grain material. I prefer the smooth material used on the open cars. As far as what’s supposed to be there, I have no idea. I haven’t seen a complete original truck with the original top still intact.
