Replacing Odometer Dials on a Stewart Model 160 Speedometer

I would like to know if plastic odometer dials can replace pot metal odometer dials in a later Stewart Model 160 (?) speedometer.

I have what I believe is a later Model 160 speedometer with pot metal dials, a nice face without a date code, and a nice case/bezel. The face has "SPEED" under the speedometer dial instead of "MILES PER HOUR" as on other earlier models.

I also have an earlier Model 160 (?) with plastic odometer dials and an L-3 date code on the face. I have read several previous posts in which Russ Furstnow recommended replacing the pot metal dials with the plastic dials.

Since both speedometers are 0 - 75 MPH, Is it a direct replacement of the complete speedometer/odometer mechanism or are there additional changes that have to be made? Based on Russ' comments I assume it can be done but how is it done.

i am posting this here since I know at least two others may have the same question.

Thanks
