I enjoy collecting and studying Model T engine blocks and seeing if I can find something interesting. It is especially fun when I discover one that is different from the normal expectations. I recently found and bought this 1916 block and I thought I'd share the find. At first glance you might be wondering what makes this block special - I didn't catch it immediately. It was probably the second or third time I looked at the block before noticing that the casting date was on the left side of the water inlet instead of on the right, as is typical of all the blocks cast during this era, 1913-1921.

Interesting. I have seen (seen pictures) of a few like this. One must wonder why a small percentage of blocks would have been cast with this anomaly.
