I understand that Carmine Red was a common color used to paint the earliest T's.

Can anyone help me find a modern color chip so I can order some Carmine Red paint?

Any help would be appreciated.

That is a very deep red. I like.

When you buy it, you will think you put a down payment on a Rolls Royce. LOL.

Reds are very high due to the pigments used.

Well, at the risk of stirring up controversy and being the devils advocate, if the red spilled on the can is true, I'm not so sure that is "the Carmine Red" that Ford actually used. In the pic of my former '12 RPU, I sent a copy of it to a tech at PPG, and she quickly responded, "Oh, that's Carmine Red". A bit afterward I saw two very early Ts at the museum that the description poster stated were Carmine Red, and they were exactly as mine looked. Just sayin, not being contradictory here. When it comes to colors, I know how touchy the subject can get, just thinking about just how correct one wants to be.

Is there anyone in Richmond near the museum that could ask an automotive paint supplier to come do a scan of one of the vehicles in the museum?

You're welcome Bill. That's a good idea, I'd call the museum and ask them. I'm sure they could help.
All I can remember is from the PPG people was a girl named "Samantha", it was a long time ago. Wish I could
help more. To me, if you're gonna be painting, you wanna get it right!! 'Nuff said, every time I get on my "correct bandwagon" I seem to get yelled at!! Ha ha. But truth is, to each his own anyway!

Here is another option for Carmine Red. My 1909 is painted with Nason Ful-Thane CG2911B, Red. I hope this helps. Russ Furstnow

Carmine red is supposed to be the standard color of RAL 3024 or RAL 3026,
RAL numbers are supposed to be typical colors that all paint mixers use
