Can anyone recommend a battery charger that will last? I had one for 30 years, it finally died. The last two I bought didn’t even last a full year.

I bought this Schumacher, it is pretty nice, 6/12 volt, and has different settings for different types of batteries. It also tells you right away off a battery is sulfated and no good. It automatically turns off and reverts to maintenance charge. It tells you the current charge, as well as flashes the charge percentage as it increases

I can't attest to what the longevity will be, but I really like this little guy. It's hard to find a 6/12 Volt charger that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. $19.95 at Menards for this one. Cuts itself down to trickle charge too, so if you forget it for a day it won't fry the battery.

I have a traveller BCS-2 from TS. it is 6 amp on 6 volt and 6 amp and 2 amp trickle on 12 volt. had it for several years no problem only draw back it is not automatic shut off.
Just goggle automotive battery chargers and there are a number of 6/12/volt still being made.such as the ultra below picture didn't post.

Look for one of the new ones that has an anti-sulfation or "Recondition" feature.
Repeated heavy discharges and recharges will kill a battery that is not made for them, very quickly.
Take a look at the "CTEK" brand. Made in Sweden, and has excellent reviews.
I bought a "CTEK" one for my motorcycle batteries, and now I use it instead of my regular charger (Which has worked fine for 20 years and is still good, but it doesn't have the "Recondition" mode in the charging cycle)
