1911 REAR BOW RISER BOARD

Post by Art Ebeling » Thu Aug 06, 2020 11:35 am

I am ready to install the top on my 1911 Touring. The suppliers are out of the wedge shaped rear bow riser board, the one that gives the top the correct shape at the rear of the rear bow. Can someone give me the shape and measurements for that board? Thank you, Art

Keith Townsend posted this on Monday, January 21, 2013:
The notes I have from my original top show that "riser" as 38" long and 9/16" at the thick side. The "riser" on another 1911 I saw was 43" long. I compromised and I made mine 40" long.
Note on the photo that Dan posted on the right there is a dimension of 7/8" "rise" across the top of the back bow. I won't argue over 1/16"

When did I do that?
