Hi all :
A friend asked me to help him to mount a tire on a Splitrim .
I have a rim spreader .
What is the best location for the spreader in the rim ?.
So I don't deform the rim .
I have looked in my papers , but I can't find a picture
Thank you in advance .

Used a rim spreader a couple of times. The adjusting arm should be placed adjacent the lock side of the rim, and that will collapse the rim there at the split.
Old time instructions, note the #2 is the spot on the rim for collapse and #1 to break open , for A the long adjusting arm.

These are the instructions that I used when I mounted my new tires last year and it went very well....almost enjoyable dare I say.

Thanks for the copy of the instructions Dan. I’ve copied them to a folder. We get that question every few months. I’ve answered it several times in multi-paragraph form. In October when we’ll probably get it again we can just send your instructions. Very good !
