The original photo is in the collection of the Minnesota Historical Society and identified as, "Ed Killmer in Automobile. Osseo." Osseo is about ten miles northwest of Minneapolis.

Well, not only did the guy splurge on the wheels, but he also got the gypsy curtains on the windshield, and the deluxe boot for the top.
He's STYLIN!!!!!
I'm sure he was very proud. It could well have been his first ever really new car!

This looks like it could be the same roadster and possibly the same driver, without the hat. Photo was taken in front of Smith Motor Company, Taylor, Texas.

Since the photo is in the Minnesota historical collection, wouldn’t you think it’s most likely Minnesota?
The Texas car is surely a ringer, but neither driver is Will Rogers.

Worth mentioning: just because a photo of what appears to be the same car and gentleman is in the possession of the Minnesota Historical Society does not necessarily mean that the MNHS description of the photo is accurate. Mis-identification of photos in museum collections is not uncommon and occurs for a variety of reasons. Also, just because the photo is in a Minnesota museum archive doesn't automatically mean the photo was taken in Minnesota.

I ran the '03 Ford photo through Tineye and is how I came up with the address (it was mentioned in the description) and then found the newspaper clipping based on that. Tineye, and other such sites, can help a lot with tracking down the origin of things. Interestingly enough, it must be far from perfect because the 2018 MTFCA thread did not show up in the results.
