I have the drive shaft ready for assembly. Before I do final assembly a question, the bearings sleeve is 3 1/16 but my bearing is only 2 7/8. 3/16 of play on the sleeve is correct. Don’t want to start tightening things up and set end play in not.

I should have wrote, is the 3/16 of play For the roller bearing to move back and forth between pinion gear and thrust bearings correct?

The Hyatt bearing should be able to float, drive shaft should stay still on end play in the tube.
