Thats what my grand daughter calls it. Family Farm Day was started today. The event was put on to get donations for a new Amish school house. Much like a thresher festival the hit+miss icream makers, tractors, kiddy rides and games and farm equipment along with Amish food and baked goods. History of grain farming, story time and farm demos were the order of the day. My TT was the 3rd oldest farm vehicle there. The steam engine was 1918 and the wood tooth reaper from 1880's had me beat. Threshing oats was the main event.

After the binder came shocking the oats.

Then the TT came around and the pitched them on.

More to come.

Not just a pretty face but a workhorse to.
Thanks to Dave Stroud, The big Green Truck and I had a great day for a good cause. I had to tease the guy with the 1929 John Deer D about bringing the modern tractor. :D

Dallas, you're having too much fun! Good to hear and see! Nice TT. Got a club friend with a "big green TT" also, just has
a different cab body.

Tell the Bishop he needs to charge you admission since you had fun! With that grin, days like this are priceless!

Hank and Tim, it doesnt take much for farm boys to have fun. Old iron belching smoke and slingin oil and some chores to get done with a few friends is all it takes. Oh ya, did I mension home made icecream ?

Lots of shows have threshing demonstrations, but the one at Pawnee OK beats all. The show is always in early May, long before the wheat is ripe, so they thresh wheat that's been sitting on wagons since it was cut the previous June. It's like all other demonstrations until they get down to the end. As the last of the wheat is pitched into the machine hundreds of mice go scampering off the wagons in all directions. It's my favorite part of the show.

Nice to see the T in action.

Model T's and dogs are happiest when they have a job to do.

Dallas, you need to send picture # 6 to Langs for their calendar.

Did you let the little guy ride shotgun?

Fairview, Okla. Threshing Bee/Two Cylinder show going to be Sept. 25-26 if they don't cancel it because of this virus. I have taken my 26 T touring in the past along with my 1937 model D JD. This year I will take my 31 A pickup instead. Pawnee is a good show, but at Fairview we have a field that we can take our tractors and hook a plow to them and give them a good work out.

Yes Dave, two riders. They each had a big bag of candy from " find the candy in the corn" game. They must have been swimming in shelled corn. I had corn all over in the cab that fell out of their cloths.
The barrel train was full all day.

I couldn't even get a ride!

If not for the skid steer and water tank, it looks pretty authentic. I like the little guy in suspenders taking it all in.

That's a nice old photo. It looks like Indiana to me.

I think your right Rich. This guy was clogging up the roadway yesterday in Indiana.

You can crop that water tank out and you still have a great pic. It enlarges beautifully.

I like the color best. Maybe try sepia tone. Where is Osterman when you need him?

Here you go ...

Tank removed, colour, sepia, and grey versions. I've 'aged' the sepia and grey photo's a little - the grey photo more so.

I've also added a cropped version that sharpens the image and gets rid of the, er, 'newer' machinery evident to the LHS ;)

1 The last version, B&W, is the best.
2 I've always hated clip-on suspenders.
