I believe it is a Essex Six Sedan about 1926.

Had a few of these over the years, The Essex earnt the nick-name of the "GUTLESS WONDER"
The story I was told many years ago was that the demo cars for the agents were built from aluminium, giving them some get up and go, but when you received your nice new Essex, the body was all steal, making them far to heavy for the poor little 6 cyl engine.

Thanks RIch, I believe you nailed it. I never knew they were such a big car.

The six cylinder was a really backward step from the Essex four. The four cylinder cars were sturdy, and speedsters built on them went well and took a real pounding with great reliability.

Allan from down under.
