Straight axle questions

Post by Mike Lebsack-Iowa » Tue Aug 18, 2020 7:35 am

We are machining a pair of new straight axles and have a couple questions. We have a pair of badly worn originals but would like to verify two things.
1. What width should the key way be? Our original is very worn and wide.
2. What is the relationship of the pin or bolt hole to the keyway? It appears to be roughly 90 degree or has a centerline perpendicular to the centerline of the keyway.
