Took the old Ford to the winery Saturday night. Then lit the lamps and drove home.
First evening we’ve had the lights lit. The winery was a good place to socially distance and enjoy a beautiful late summer evening. The last song we stayed for was “Ghost Riders in the Sky.” Thought that was a fitting theme for a gaslight drive.

I made all new tubing for both of my 1913 Fords last year. In 60 years of Model T ownership I had never lit the headlamps until then. What an experience. I'm glad I did it.

Thanks for that Rob. It is a marvelous use of music, kerosene, acetylene and video. Only a straw hat and matches could have made it any more wonderful.

Next time you could try a brewery. I see there is one on the west side of Lincoln called Zipline. They seem to have a nice selection.

Thanks guys. Dave, that guy from Kansas ruined that brewery.....
Speaking of an over 21 version. We went out yesterday afternoon and found the back deck of a 1907 Ford serves very well:

That first video in this thread was wonderful. Loved it!
This one was REAL! Thank you, you two! Made me feel more at home.
No wonder I have a COLD beer with me when I'm out with all my different machines. Ya gotta have a sense of humor!

Swell fun.
Rob, try covering your microphone with foam rubber. See if that cuts the wind noise.
When you're old enough everything reminds you of something else. Ghost Riders in the Sky reminds me of Vaughn Monroe and the Sons of the Pioneers, of course. But it also reminds me of Tom Mix. He was dead, but Curly Bradley played him on the radio. The Tom Mix Ralston Straight Shooters was one of those after-school week day kid shows I listened to. After seventy years I don't remember it fully, but one story involved people seeing a mysterious ghost herd in the sky. Tom solved the mystery, of course. Somebody was using a movie projector to throw the image of stampeding cattle onto a fog bank. You could do that on radio. Funny the stuff you remember.

How did you trim your wicks to get such a bright light in the kerosene lamps?

Thanks guys. Marty, I trimmed them straight across a day or two ago. They are old wicks but were saturated and seem to do a good job.
