My drag link to the pitman arm is a little loose. I would like to use one of the apco spring loaded caps to take up the play. Have any of you fellow T guys used these.

Yes. They work very well. But ensure your pitman arm ball is perfectly round. For a tighter fit - with a round pitman arm ball - you may want to consider filing on the cap or the drag link itself...

If the Pitman arm ball is worn badly, Lang's lists a replacement.

If this is what you are talking about as replacement; https://www.modeltford.com/item/3547.aspx or https://www.modeltford.com/item/2721A.aspx
Without knowing what year, nether the spindle end or steering arm are one size fits all. Some balls were part of the yoke some were straight or tapered shanks. While the 1928 parts catalog shows the one size fits all steering arm, does not mean it is correct for all years an applications. There is also the shim kit; https://www.modeltford.com/item/2728SH.aspx

Bring micrometers to swapmeets. I've not had a problem finding pitman arms with good round balls. Filing the caps does help too.
