Model T Engine Stand

I posted on the Model T Ford Club of Facebook a while back about an engine stand I built from a Model T rear differential. Things I have found out. I can rotate the engine and transmission w/ pan 360 degrees. I can not rotate all the way around with the hogshead or the crank handle in place. The weight of the hogshead will not allow my braking system (friction brake by clamping the differential to the housing via a through bolt) hold the engine unit horizontal. But found a solution by inserting a flat screw driver between the pinion and ring gear. Holds fine by brake when the hogshead is remove. Found rotating vertical great to drain old nasty motor oil from the pan. Infinite positions are useful for disassembly. So far so good!!

Thanks for posting those pictures Dennis, looking @ some T parts this week and several rear axles to harvest.

What is your dimension from the floor to the center of that differential housing and is the plate you used 1/4" like the engine stand adapter?

I find this tool to be altogether pleasing, elegant, and entirely fitting for the purpose. Salute!
