I found a bunch of these and my car had three on four of the tube stems, I wanted to ask if this was standard Ford equipment and should be on every stem?

I don't know if the cores were meant to be removable back then.

If you are referring to the valve stem remover cap, then no, I don't believe they would have been.

The valve cap with the valve removal tool was definitely standard for Schrader Valve inner tubes right into the 1950's. When the plastic cap was introduced as a replacement, wise motorists started to hoard the brass 'tool end' caps. As that generation finishes with motoring, astute hunters will find, when the old garage is cleared, the odd jar of tool caps that have been hoarded over the decades, and kept ready for use.

You only need one valve cap with the core removal tool - the rest can be of the plain variety. If your car has a spare tire, keep the notched cap on the spare.

The metal valve caps sold by Schrader, regardless if they are plain or include the tool, had a rubber gasket. That is "extra insurance" against leaky valve cores.

It appears the valve stem you have pictured is for a larger car, and are using a rim nut to hold it to the felloe.

I've found that the cap with removal tool makes the stem too tall for the big cap. So, I have one only on my spare tire.

By the way, this reminds me of a good little Trivia question - which I got from CarTalk:

There is a part of your car that is exactly the same as it was when it was first made, which was well before there were automobiles. It cost about 15 cents then, and still costs about 15 cents. What is it?

Hint: There are at least 5 of this part on your car, and maybe as many as 7 or 8.

Answer: The Schrader valve. It was in use (on bicycles, etc.) before there were cars. You have 5 tires on your car, including the spare, but there may be 2 or more in the Air Conditioning system.
