good morning from Vermont, i found this listed for sale on a auction, ive tried to get some history on it, google has every other type but this one,it fits my model t clincher rims, as i thought it would,may olso work on other makes too like chevy. has any one any info, like how old it might be? ect.it was made by Daton,in Ohio.

Dayton Rubber Mfg. Co. (embossed on the tool in the second photo) manufactured tires. I found some references to and ads for airless tires.

I have found that searching period trade journals via Google Books is a good source. Sometimes I set date parameters - January 1, 1900 to December 31, 1930.

I would do the following searches in Google Books:

"Dayton Rubber"

"Dayton Rubber Mfg."

"Dayton Rubber Manufacturing"

Very interesting result - TDayco began in Dayton, Ohio as the “Dayton Rubber Manufacturing Company” (DRMC). The year was 1905.
