Fastenal? Is that who you are thinking of?

I think I read fairly recently that Fastenal has discontinued that service,.....???

Not necessarily

Fastenal is the most economical way to ship parts if you can drop off and pick up at a Fastenal store.

Best thing to do is call a Fastenal store close to where you want to ship from & see what they say.

Fastenall's shipping department has very limited service now - I couldn't ship a turtle deck on a pallet from Washington to Texas !

Probably because Washington is COVID-19 Central.

Between that and the riots it is not a fun state to be
driving through the major cities

Not trying to start a fight but I have question.
Had a friend just delivered a car to New England by driving car not trailer. No was not a T , modern car.
He called Pa, NY, and other New England states and was told that he had to have a Covid test papers that showed him neg no more that 72hr old or he would be escorted to nearest motel for 14 day stay on his dime. Now, he was told that they were not stopping people to check them , but if he was pulled over for traffic stop or anything where he had to show drivers license he would be ask to show test papers. He was told this by DOT I think. Maybe heath dept. not sure.
Anyone here heard of this. It may be because we are a hot spot, not sure. ?

Here in PA they have published the following quarantine measures:

However, I haven't heard of them being implemented against anyone here as a result of a traffic stop and you'll notice in their wording the use of "recommended". There has been a lot of confusion over the measures implemented here as the government speaks out of both sides of its mouth, often stating things as absolute, but then when you read what was actually published it is not as strict, and it is believed that is because what they want, and what they can legally implement without the legislature, are two different things.

I don't have a solid answer for your friend so far his exact situation, but this illustrates why he is getting mixed signals depending on who he talks to.

He should be OK as long as he just stops to fuel and get food and spend the night in a motel.

I have been transporting all year long and have been restricted in some states to interstate travel with pick up and drop off only at exit points.

There is a guy on AACA forum says he is not coming to Luray because PA had VA marked with a skull and cross bones? He said he would have to quarantine for 14 days when he got back. ???

Self-Quarantining is "Advised" but is completely voluntary. Consistent with CDC guidance, Virginia currently does NOT have any quarantine requirements for people arriving in the Commonwealth from other U.S. or international locations, as of August 13, 2020. Pennsylvania's list of "Skull and Cross Bones" states was last updated on 8-28-2020 and Virginia DOES NOT APPEAR ON THE LIST.

I got a fastenal shipping quote last week, they must still be doing it for indiana to michigan anyway.

I was told a couple months ago by Blue Lane Freight in Spanaway, WA (Fastenal) that no shipments originating from from the West Coast to the Midwest or the East Coast would be contracted until further notice.
